All art is a play of the imagination and an expression of emotion. It starts with an idea, nurtured by the hands and imagination of the artist. While commercial art and fine art are similar in that they both involve the creation of a visual image, they differ in the way they achieve it. This also applies to the way in which they encourage the viewer to act.
Visual Art. Its purpose is to elicit an emotional response from people. It is designed to appreciate an aesthetically pleasing appearance and unique characteristics. Influenced by this whole set, such art gives encouragement, inspires action, and prompts decision-making. But it is usually concentrated in museums in the form of exhibits and is not accessible to everyone’s eyes. Art is static in time and reflects only a certain slice of human history-his tastes, views, aesthetic preferences.
Commercial art. In this case, the human influence is focused on one thing only – to push the consumer to buy a product or to order a service. This type of artistic influence is applicable to the Internet, television, print, and marketing projects. And it is also valued for its aesthetic appeal, because each advertising photographer has his own vision of presenting items, his own shooting style and individual creative techniques.
The time and effort spent on an advertising photo shoot is enormous. And everything is done in order to provoke the necessary emotion in the consumers. There are many key steps involved in the process:
- Planning a commercial photo shoot;
- finding a suitable location;
- selecting models and other performers;
- hiring stylists;
- preparation of layouts and backgrounds;
- setting up the lighting;
- thinking through the concept.
All in all, it is incredible work – painstaking and time-consuming for a single outcome. On the expressive response of the consumer to order the product.
